La Jolla, CA (January 16, 2026) – A young male motorcyclist suffered a serious leg injury in a collision on Interstate 5 in the La Jolla area Monday night, triggering a joint emergency response. The incident took place on January 13 around 10:14 p.m. Emergency responders arrived to discover the rider conscious but suffering intense pain from a serious leg injury incurred in the incident. Paramedics provided pain relief on-site and consulted with a base hospital to determine medication doses before transport. The motorcyclist was stabilized and transported to a nearby hospital for additional trauma treatment. The cause of the crash has not been disclosed yet. Emergency response efforts disrupted traffic on I-5, but lanes were reopened after the scene was cleared. Our thoughts are with the injured rider, and we wish him strength and a speedy recovery.
