Vacaville, CA (March 1, 2026) – A woman passed away on Saturday morning, February 28, following a collision between two vehicles at a rural intersection west of Vacaville. Emergency responders arrived on scene around 8 a.m. to the crossroads of Byrnes Road and Hawkins Road. The collision involved a silver Toyota sedan and a silver Dodge pickup truck. Officials report that the Toyota was heading south on Byrnes Road when it was hit by the Dodge pickup traveling east on Hawkins Road. The pickup truck struck the Toyota with a broadside collision at the intersection. The Toyota’s driver, a 29-year-old woman, was declared dead at the scene. Officials have not disclosed her identity. The Dodge pickup’s driver was transported to a hospital after the accident. No information has been released about that person’s condition. The roadway stayed closed for several hours as crews operated at the scene and investigators gathered evidence. Officials are still probing the cause of the accident, with additional information to be shared as it emerges.
