In Eagle Rock, California, on Sunday night, November 2, a woman named Tanya Perry was fatally struck in a hit-and-run incident while crossing the street on Colorado Boulevard, as reported by the police. The accident took place at the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and the 2 Freeway, according to authorities. Authorities discovered that Perry entered a designated crosswalk before the accident occurred. As she was crossing, she was hit by a vehicle, and the driver ran away. Shortly after the collision, it was declared that she had passed away. The Los Angeles Police Department is actively seeking the culprit and the vehicle they were operating. Metro also released a statement offering condolences and mentioned that grief counseling is available for Perry’s coworkers. Her daughter, Dana Perry, created a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral costs. Summary of the hit-and-run on Colorado Boulevard. In deadly pedestrian accidents involving a driver who escapes the scene, the Hit-and-Run Statute is the main law being examined. Drivers involved in accidents that result in injury or death must stop, provide their identification, and offer assistance. Fleeing the scene of this kind of accident is a serious crime. Since the victim was in a designated crosswalk, the Pedestrian Right-of-Way Law is relevant as well.
