According to the San Diego County Medical Examiner, Susana Gascon was struck by a sedan at around 2 p.m. On December 6, while crossing the street in the 800 block of North Mollison Avenue in her hometown of El Cajon. Paramedics took Gascon to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where she received treatment for severe injuries. She stayed in the hospital for over three weeks and passed away on December 28, according to officials. Her death was subsequently attributed to complications arising from the injuries she received in the crash.
