On December 9, 2025, in Santa Fe Springs, California, a man was tragically struck and died on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway, located near Valley View Avenue. Officials are looking into this as a fatal hit-and-run case. The California Highway Patrol was informed around 7:12 pm. On December 7, 2025, about a man in the southbound lanes. Shortly afterward, it is said that the person was hit by a moving car. A witness informed the authorities that the driver did not halt after the accident. CHP officers promptly arrived at the location and conducted a complete traffic stop on Carmenita Road. To aid in the investigation and guarantee the safety of responders, officials shut down the HOV lane and the first two southbound lanes of the highway. The identity of the deceased man has not yet been disclosed, and authorities are still looking into the details of the tragic incident, including attempts to find the driver who fled the scene.
