San Jose, CA (October 23, 2025) – On Wednesday, a traffic collision occurred around noon on the northbound lanes of Highway 101 close to Montague Expressway, leading to injuries and a considerable emergency response. The accident took place shortly after noon. This led to a rapid response from Santa Clara City Fire and emergency medical services at the location. Several people were injured in the incident, but the severity of those injuries has not been revealed. Paramedics provided on-site care for victims and organized their transfer to local hospitals for additional treatment as needed. The presence of emergency vehicles caused significant traffic delays as they occupied lanes to help the injured and examine the incident. The event took place on a heavily trafficked part of Hwy 101, an area that often experiences heavy congestion during lunchtime, prompting worries about persistent safety hazards in that location. Local officials are currently looking into the cause of the accident. Authorities have not yet verified the number of vehicles involved or if any tickets will be issued.
