San Jose, CA (April 4, 2026) – A fatal crash early Sunday morning at the Curtner Ave. and southbound Hwy 87 off-ramp killed one man and resulted in the arrest of a teenage driver. The incident happened just after 1 a.m. on April 4, a Sunday. Police stated that a teenage boy driving a 2022 Honda Accord westbound on Curtner Ave collided with a 2003 Chevy Malibu turning from the off-ramp onto eastbound Curtner Ave. The Chevy’s driver, an adult male, was declared dead at the scene. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed yet. The teenage driver and his adult female passenger were transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. After the crash, the driver was arrested and booked on suspicion of DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Officials have not disclosed the driver’s precise age. No further information has been disclosed regarding the circumstances preceding the crash. We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
