San Diego, CA (January 12, 2026) – A male cyclist suffered serious injuries Saturday afternoon when he crashed while going down a steep hill near Frost Street in San Diego. The
Assistant: The incident was reported at about 4:05 p.m. On January 11, per dispatch audio, emergency responders arrived to find the man with multiple abrasions, a facial laceration, and indications of a possible skull fracture. At the time of the crash, which happened under unclear circumstances, the rider was not wearing a helmet. Even with his injuries, the patient stayed alert and stable. Paramedics took the bicyclist to Sharp Memorial Hospital for additional assessment and care. While being transported, the patient refused both a cervical collar and IV access. Officials have not disclosed the man’s name and are still probing the causes of the crash. We extend our sincerest hopes for a swift and complete recovery to the injured cyclist.
