San Diego, CA (October 25, 2025) – Early Thursday morning, two people sustained injuries in a car accident near East San Ysidro Boulevard, in proximity to the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Emergency medical teams from San Diego Fire-Rescue, specifically Engine 29 and Medic 30, arrived at the location around 2:32 a.m. As per the dispatch reports, the accident caused significant injuries to both parties involved. One individual experienced a spinal injury, whereas the other incurred a hip injury. Given the serious nature of the injuries, an Advanced Life Support (ALS) response was activated, and more paramedic units were called to the location. The accident happened near the secondary inspection zone for vehicles close to Interstate 5 and Rail Court, an area recognized for its heavy traffic due to international border crossings. Emergency medical services provided treatment to the victims at the location of the incident before taking them to nearby trauma centers for additional assessment. The local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. Information about the vehicles involved in the incident and the status of any other individuals injured has not yet been disclosed.
