A 28-year-old man died on Sunday, December 7, in a car crash on Newport Avenue, Long Beach, CA. The police believe the collision was intentional, resulting from a heated argument. The incident occurred at approximately 1:47 a.m., when officers arrived at the scene. To the area of 1700 Newport Avenue, where an unconscious male was discovered lying on the street. Officers started providing medical assistance until the Long Beach Fire team arrived. Despite the life-saving efforts, the victim passed away on-site. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity as Samuel Ocegueda from Long Beach. Upon discovering that the victim and driver had an altercation prior to the accident, homicide detectives were sent to the scene. The report from LBPD states that Ocegueda was walking on Newport Avenue beyond the crosswalk. As he was crossing the road, a person driving a black sedan sped up, hit him, and then quickly drove away in the direction of the south. The investigators have determined that the person behind the wheel is most likely Isai Solis, a 28-year-old man from Lynwood.
