Salinas, CA (January 11, 2026) – Emergency responders attended a crash with injuries Saturday evening near San Juan Grade Rd and Crazy Horse Rd in Salinas’ North County. The crash happened at approximately 9:19 p.m. On January 10, it prompted a coordinated response from CAL FIRE and multiple regional fire units. Firefighters from Engine 5212, Battalion 3616, and Engine 70 were among the first to arrive on scene, where they began assessing the situation and providing medical aid. The crash was confirmed to have caused injuries, although the number of people hurt and the extent of their injuries have not been released. It occurred near the intersection of Salinas Rd and Crazy Horse Canyon Rd, a location notorious for its twisting roads and poor nighttime visibility. Emergency medical teams were sent to aid those affected, with extra support units deployed as the situation unfolded. Officials have not disclosed information about the accident’s cause, and the matter is still being investigated. Roadway access in the area was probably disrupted as crews worked to secure the scene and aid the injured.
