Sacramento County, CA (March 26, 2026) – A man in his 40s was fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night, March 25, on Bradshaw Road near Countryroads Drive in Sacramento County. Emergency responders arrived at the scene just before 10:00 p.m. After reports of a pedestrian crash on the roadway, which runs near the boundary between the Rosemont area and the city of Rancho Cordova. Upon arrival, crews discovered the man lying in the roadway after being struck by a vehicle. Bystanders tried to administer lifesaving aid prior to the responders’ arrival. Even with those efforts, the man was declared dead at the scene. Officials noted that the driver in the crash stayed at the site and worked with investigators. Officials have stated that drugs and alcohol do not seem to have played a role in the crash. The victim’s identity has not been disclosed yet and will be released once family members are notified. Investigators are still examining the cause of the incident, with additional information to follow as it emerges. We extend our sympathies to the family and friends of the victim. Why Pedestrian Accidents Frequently Happen at Night. Pedestrian accidents are more common at night due to decreased visibility. Drivers might struggle to see people walking alongside or crossing roads, particularly in poorly lit areas. Dark clothing, shadows, and headlight glare can further obscure pedestrians.
