Sacramento, CA (January 6, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a major car accident that necessitated extrication on Monday morning near Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento. The crash was reported at approximately 9:06 a.m. On the 5th of January. Fire and EMS units from the Sacramento Regional area, such as Engine 16, Medic 11, Truck 7, and Battalion Chief 4, arrived at the scene in District 16 following reports of at least one person possibly trapped in a vehicle. Crews began extrication efforts to extricate the individual safely, as the collision had damaged the vehicle’s structure. The full scope of injuries from the crash remains unconfirmed, though medical staff were present to offer care and transport where required. Officials are conducting an ongoing probe into the incident’s details. Emergency operations likely disrupted local traffic.
