Sacramento, CA (March 28, 2026) – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on northbound I-5 near Pocket Road in Sacramento. Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 10:10 p.m. on March 27, a Friday. According to investigators, the rider lost control of the motorcycle, which overturned on the freeway. Officials stated that a passing vehicle then struck the rider. Emergency responders reached the scene, where the motorcyclist was declared dead. Officials noted that the vehicle driver stayed at the location and is assisting investigators. Alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the crash. The motorcyclist’s identity has yet to be disclosed. Officials stated that the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the rider’s identity following notification of next of kin.
