Sacramento, CA (September 12, 2025) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a cyclist sustained severe injuries on Wednesday morning after being hit by a car at the intersection of 65th Street and Stockton Boulevard. The incident took place around 11:21 AM on September 11 and was first categorized as a vehicle-pedestrian collision. Officials later verified that the individual involved was cycling when the accident occurred. The region in southern Sacramento experiences high traffic levels and has several commercial driveways and turning lanes, which can lead to difficulties with visibility and right-of-way. Emergency medical services were promptly dispatched to the location to assist the injured cyclist. The victim was subsequently taken by ambulance to a local hospital for additional assessment and medical care. Authorities have not provided specific information regarding the severity of the injuries, but the response indicates they are deemed significant. The driver in question stayed at the location and cooperated with the inquiry. Currently, officials have not stated if factors such as impairment, speed, or distraction contributed to the incident.
