Crews used specialized equipment to extricate him before transporting both drivers to the hospital with moderate injuries. Officials confirmed that no students were aboard the bus during the crash. Further information regarding the events preceding the collision has not yet been disclosed. Officials are still probing the reason behind the accident, with additional details to be shared as they emerge. We’re keeping those impacted in our thoughts during their ongoing recovery. What Happens When Large Vehicles Are Involved in Intersection Crashes. Accidents with larger vehicles like buses and trucks often cause greater damage because of their size and weight. When these vehicles intersect at junctions during turns, the collisions can be more severe. Three-way stops demand that drivers accurately assess timing and right-of-way. If a vehicle misjudges speed or distance, it can result in a side-impact collision, potentially causing serious injuries. When a driver is trapped, emergency responders may employ specialized tools to safely gain access to the vehicle.
