(Long Beach, CA) A man died on the night of Wednesday, February 18, after a pickup truck hit him in a collision on Seventh Street. Long Beach Police Department officers arrived on scene around 10:50 p.m. to the intersection of Seventh and Dawson streets. Upon arrival, officers learned that a pedestrian had been hit in the road. Long Beach Fire Department staff transported the injured man to a nearby hospital. Despite treatment, the pedestrian later died from his injuries at the hospital, police said. Officials withheld the victim’s name, age, and hometown. That information was still unavailable while officials notified next of kin. Investigators reported that a 2007 Toyota Tundra was traveling eastbound in the No. 2 lane of Seventh Street when it hit a pedestrian who stepped into the roadway from between two parked cars. According to police, the driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Police said speed seemed to be a factor in the crash. No arrests were announced by officials.
