(Phoenix, AZ) A man sustained life-threatening injuries in an early Wednesday, December 24, collision on 16th Street after a vehicle struck him at the 16th Street and Broadway Road intersection. Officers arrived just before 7 a.m. and discovered the pedestrian badly injured. Firefighters quickly took him to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. According to police, the driver remained at the scene. At this point in the investigation, authorities do not believe impairment was a factor. Police shut down the intersection in all directions for several hours while detectives processed the scene. Officials urged motorists to steer clear of the area because of traffic delays.
