A bicyclist suffered severe injuries on Tuesday, October 28th, in a crash on Northbound Pacific Coast Highway, causing temporary lane closures in Newport Beach, as reported by authorities. The Newport Beach Police Department stated that the collision happened around 8:35 a.m. close to Fernleaf Avenue. A car moving northward on PCH collided with a cyclist. Upon their arrival, paramedics from the Newport Beach Fire Department rushed the rider to a nearby hospital in a critical state. The driver stayed at the location and assisted investigators, according to the police. All northbound lanes were shut down between Goldenrod Avenue and Fernleaf Avenue while officers inspected the area. A SigAlert was announced at approximately 8:50 a.m. The closure lasted for several hours before traffic was allowed to resume. Here’s a summary of the crash on the northbound Pacific Coast Highway.
