Los Angeles, CA (December 18, 2025) – The Los Angeles Fire Department reports that four individuals were hospitalized Monday night after a severe three-car collision in Northridge, which caused two vehicles to veer off Balboa Boulevard and crash into the yards of adjacent homes. The incident took place shortly before 8 p.m. in the 8800 block of North Balboa Boulevard, triggering a large-scale response from emergency services. Firefighters arrived and discovered severe damage to all three involved vehicles. A vehicle mounted the curb, plowed through a front yard, and collided with a tree. A second vehicle came to rest in a yard across the street, while a silver SUV ended up disabled in the road. Two people were trapped in their cars and needed firefighters to free them. The driver who collided with the tree suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Three more victims were transported to the hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries. Following the crash, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation shut down Balboa Blvd between Rayen St and Parthenia St temporarily, enabling emergency personnel and investigators to securely evaluate the site and collect evidence. Authorities have yet to disclose the identities of the individuals involved or the circumstances preceding the incident. The LAPD is still conducting its investigation.
