Authorities in Venice, California are actively seeking the individual responsible for a hit-and-run incident that resulted in the death of Neo Moroke, aged 83, on Washington Boulevard last month. The incident occurred early on Saturday, September 20, at approximately 1:58 a.m. Neo Moroke was crossing Washington Boulevard at Lincoln Boulevard in a designated crosswalk. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a blue SUV heading east hit him as he was crossing and then fled the scene. Emergency responders from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived promptly and provided medical assistance on-site. Emergency responders brought the victim to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet disclosed the driver’s name. The police stated that the driver of the SUV did not stop to provide their identity or offer assistance. The last sighting of the vehicle was as it sped away heading east on Washington Boulevard. The City Council of Los Angeles has approved a reward of as much as $50,000 for tips that result in identifying and capturing the driver.
