(Dulzura, CA) A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning, January 43183, in a crash on State Route 94 with a pickup truck in an unincorporated part of east San Diego County. Cal Fire reported the incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. in front of Fire Station 30 of the San Diego County Fire Protection District. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 33-year-old man from Imperial Beach was driving a Toyota Tacoma eastbound on SR-94 near Campbell Ranch Road. Meanwhile, a 30-year-old man from Chula Vista was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound on the same highway. The CHP stated that, for reasons still being investigated, the Tacoma driver turned left toward a driveway. The motorcycle struck the truck’s right side, hurling the rider onto the road. Medical personnel declared the motorcyclist dead at the scene. According to the CHP, paramedics took the Tacoma driver to a hospital suffering from minor injuries. Officials withheld the victim’s identity. Information on speed, visibility, or the condition of traffic control devices was not immediately available and was recorded as unknown.
