A minor-injury traffic collision was recorded at 6:05 p.m. Aug. 25 on eastbound Interstate 80 just west of Dutch Flat in the Gold Run area. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision involving minor injuries.
The crash location was identified as the eastbound side of Interstate 80 near the Dutch Flat area. CHP dispatch information did not provide descriptions of the vehicles involved.
A CHP update at 6:59 p.m. reported that a blue Caltrans rest-area sign and two wooden posts were also damaged in the incident. The dispatch did not specify the extent of the damage beyond those roadside items.
No additional information about the injured person or people, the vehicles, or any roadway closure was included in the available CHP updates. The incident remained documented within the Gold Run CHP area.
