In a crash on State Route 1 in Malibu, CA on Thursday evening, December 4, two individuals lost their lives, and another sustained severe injuries. The accident led to the closure of both directions of Pacific Coast Highway near Deer Creek Road. The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision occurred at approximately 6:55 p.m. along Highway 1. A 25-year-old man driving a Dodge Charger northbound allegedly veered over the double yellow lines into traffic coming from the opposite direction. At that instant, he collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe being operated by a 53-year-old individual. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel, both drivers were non-responsive. Both casualties were declared lifeless by first responders on site. A person in the Charger suffered significant injuries and was transported to a close-by medical facility. It seems that alcohol played a role, according to CHP. Footage from the location revealed a vehicle completely consumed by fire as various agencies arrived and closed the road for the investigation.
