Madera Co., CA (April 2, 2026) – Steven Munoz Jr., a 48-year-old man, died Monday night, March 30, following a suspected DUI crash at the Avenue 17 and Daley Road intersection in Madera County. Reports state that Munoz Jr. was behind the wheel of a GMC SUV that collided with a Ford sedan at the location. Following the initial collision, the Ford driver allegedly got out of the car and ran from the scene. Munoz Jr. kept heading north on Daley Road but then lost control of the SUV. The car flipped over, ejecting him from the vehicle in the accident. Emergency responders who arrived at the scene declared him dead. Officials noted discovering several beer cans inside the SUV after the crash. No further information about the other driver has been made public.
