Los Angeles, CA (September 20, 2025) – A number of individuals, including two toddlers aged one, suffered injuries on Friday morning when a car collided with a crowd of pedestrians at the crossroads of West Alpine Street and Alameda Street in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles. The accident happened around 11:47 in the morning. A significant emergency response was initiated involving units from the Los Angeles Fire Department and LAPD after a woman driving a black SUV allegedly crashed into a crowd of pedestrians, with the reasons for the incident still being investigated. The incident resulted in injuries to five people, with four of them needing to be hospitalized. At the location, one individual refused to be transported for medical care. Officials reported that three of those hospitalized were passengers in the SUV, which included the twin toddlers. The current status of all individuals who were injured is not known at this moment. Emergency responders swiftly assessed and transported the injured individuals from the crowded intersection in Chinatown, known for its local stores and cultural landmarks. The event was first described as a hit-and-run. The driver was captured merely a block away from where the accident occurred and was arrested by LAPD officers.
