Los Angeles, CA (January 7, 2026) – A cyclist sustained injuries early Monday morning after a traffic crash near the Castle Heights Ave and National Blvd intersection in Los Angeles. Emergency response teams were sent out shortly after 5:00 a.m. They responded with lights and sirens under Code 3 status, signaling urgent medical aid was required. Dispatch recordings indicated the bicyclist had been hit by a vehicle at or near the bustling Westside intersection. First responders quickly arrived on the scene and started evaluating the injured cyclist. Although the precise severity of the injuries remains unconfirmed, the response indicates they could be significant. The intersection of Castle Heights and National sees heavy traffic from both residents and commuters in the early morning. It’s still unclear if the cyclist was riding in a designated bike lane or crossing the road at the time of the incident. Officials haven’t disclosed information about the driver or if they stayed on the scene. The Los Angeles Police Department is anticipated to examine the incident and assign responsibility using evidence and witness statements.
