Long Beach, CA (March 22, 2026) – A motorcyclist died Friday night, March 20, after colliding with a bicyclist on the San Gabriel River Trail in Long Beach. Police arrived on scene around 8:15 p.m. to the trail south of the 405 Freeway in response to crash reports. Police discovered both men being assisted by bystanders and took them to a hospital in critical condition. The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries later. Officials reported that the gas-powered motorcycle, heading southbound, smashed head-on into a bicyclist traveling northbound. Both individuals were thrown from their vehicles and sustained serious injuries. Authorities do not suspect impairment or distracted driving as factors in the accident. The names of those involved and the bicyclist’s condition have not been made public. Officials are still probing the crash, with further information to follow as it emerges.
