Motorcycle accidents frequently occur without warning and can be quite serious, allowing minimal margin for mistakes when other motorists engage in risky driving actions. Investigators are looking into the execution of the U-turn to determine if factors like speed or visibility were involved. In California, when a motorist makes a turn into oncoming traffic, California Vehicle Code 21801 is particularly relevant. This regulation mandates that any driver who plans to turn left or perform a U-turn must give precedence to oncoming vehicles.
