According to the California Highway Patrol, a crash on the Santa Ana Freeway led to the death of 52-year-old Jose Cordova Aldana on Wednesday afternoon, October 22. The incident took place at approximately 12:55 p.m. on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the vicinity of Washington Boulevard. Upon the arrival of officials, they discovered several vehicles were entangled, with one of them flipped over. CHP investigators have not yet verified the information. Following their evaluation of the incident, paramedics from the Los Angeles County Fire Department declared Aldana deceased at the scene. The accident resulted in a complete shutdown of the southbound lanes. A few hours later, three out of the five lanes were reopened in the afternoon. The SigAlert was canceled by officials at 4:50 p.m. After investigators finished examining the debris and reopened all lanes, new insights emerged regarding the Santa Ana Freeway accident.
