(Bakersfield, CA) A tragic accident on Interstate 25, just north of Rowlee Road, resulted in the death of 24-year-old Jorge Vidal Aguirre-Munguia when his pickup truck collided head-on with another vehicle, as reported by authorities. The incident occurred on Monday, September 15, 2025, around 12:02 p.m. The crash on Interstate 5 occurred in the northbound lanes just above Rowlee Road. Authorities reported that Aguirre-Munguia was operating a 43183 Ram 1500 while heading north. Meanwhile, a Toyota Corolla traveling south crossed the dirt median into the path of oncoming vehicles. The Toyota crossed into the Ram’s lane, resulting in a frontal collision between the two cars. The impact caused Aguirre-Munguia to sustain fatal injuries, and he was declared dead at the location of the incident. The Toyota subsequently glided southeast before stopping on the dirt shoulder. Officials reported that the 45-year-old driver from La Puente suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kern Medical for care. According to the CHP, substances such as drugs and alcohol are not thought to have played a role in the crash on Interstate 5. A legal examination of the accident that resulted in fatalities is underway.
