In Desert Hot Springs, California, officials have recognized 18-year-old Jaime Castro as the individual who lost his life in a car accident on North Indian Canyon Drive early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred on September 30 at approximately 4:10 a.m. Officers from Desert Hot Springs arrived after receiving reports of a pedestrian being hit at the intersection of North Indian Canyon Drive and Scenic Drive. Upon the officers’ arrival, Jaime Castro was located in the street. Emergency responders concluded that he had passed away at the location of the incident. Several motorists who saw what happened halted and notified the authorities, offering details to the investigators. Officials have not provided information regarding the car that hit Castro or if the driver stayed at the location. Detectives are still looking into the details surrounding the crash on North Indian Canyon Drive. In addition, Castro’s family has created a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral costs. A legal analysis regarding the North Indian Canyon Drive crash is also underway.
