On Tuesday morning, a fatal hit-and-run accident occurred in Dana Point, CA, resulting in the untimely death of 13-year-old Luis Adrian Morales-Pacheco, who was en route to school. (November 20, 2025) The accident happened at approximately 8:20 a.m. At the location where Dana Point Harbor Dr and Park Lantern intersect, as reported by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, Morales-Pacheco was walking with his sibling when a vehicle’s driver veered off the road and hit him, authorities stated. His sibling remained unscathed, while the adolescent endured significant wounds. Emergency responders took him to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently declared dead. The suspect, a 59-year-old named Bradley Gene Funk from San Juan Capistrano, left the scene after the accident. With the help of witness reports, deputies found Funk about two to three miles away from the accident scene. He was taken into custody and charged with several offenses, such as hit-and-run, driving under the influence, and second-degree murder, as a result of a previous DUI conviction. We express our sincere sympathy to the family and acquaintances of Luis Adrian Morales-Pacheco in this painful moment.
