Hollywood, CA (September 12, 2025) – A woman was hurt in a Thursday morning accident on the northbound lane of US-101 in Hollywood when a chunk of concrete hit her car, according to officials. The event occurred around 7:40 AM, just past the Western Ave exit. As reported by the California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving on the freeway when debris, thought to be a chunk of concrete that had fallen from the road or an adjacent structure, hit her vehicle with significant force, resulting in injuries. Emergency services arrived at the location to provide help to the victim, who incurred injuries that necessitated medical care. Paramedics reached the scene and provided care to the woman before taking her to a local hospital. Details about her injuries have not been disclosed; however, officials have stated she was conscious at the scene. The unforeseen crash led to the swift initiation of emergency repairs on the impacted part of the freeway. Consequently, traffic nearly came to a halt during the hectic morning rush hour. The lanes stayed closed for a long time as teams evaluated and resolved the structural problem, causing additional delays for drivers heading north in the Hollywood region. Authorities are investigating how the concrete was dislodged and checking for any existing structural flaws or previous complaints. The CHP has not provided further information regarding where the debris came from but has stated that a comprehensive roadway inspection was performed after the incident. We extend our best wishes to the woman who was injured as she heals.
