Eureka, CA (March 11, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 near the Bayside Cutoff in Eureka early Tuesday morning, March 11, left one person injured. Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 6:32 a.m. To the northbound lanes of Highway 101 following reports of a crash. Initial reports showed one vehicle had veered off the road into a ditch, with another flipped on its side in the roadway. Officials confirmed the collision involved two vehicles—a Toyota Tacoma and a white Nissan Altima. One individual in the crash reportedly had trouble breathing and needed medical help on site. Crews briefly shut down the No. 1 northbound lane as responders attended to the situation, slowing nearby traffic. Tow trucks were summoned later to clear the damaged vehicles. Officials subsequently stated that the crash injuries were minor. Authorities are still probing the cause of the incident. We are thinking of the injured individual as they recover.
