We offer our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victim. Bicycle Safety on Residential Streets. Streets such as Pinto Place and Green Hill Drive, which are mixed-use, can feature a range of speeds and types of traffic. In Castaic, when injury accidents are reported, responders frequently modify traffic flows to safeguard the area and those affected. While residential areas might seem less hectic than major highways, they still accommodate cars, buses, bikes, and foot traffic on shared roadways. Turning vehicles, driveways, and parked cars can reduce visibility for drivers and cyclists alike. Crashes with larger vehicles like buses often lead to serious consequences for cyclists because of disparities in size and protection.
