On Tuesday evening, a head-on collision took place in Calaveras County, causing one individual to sustain severe injuries and necessitating an airlift to a local trauma center, as reported by the California Highway Patrol and Calaveras Consolidated Fire. The accident happened near the intersection of Warren Road and South Burson Road, which is situated north of Highway 26 in Burson, CA (December 9, 2025). On December 9, 2025, at dusk, emergency teams rushed to the scene and discovered two severely damaged cars, one of them being an SUV with significant driver-side damage. Given the extent of the wreckage and the state of one of the injured parties, medical professionals sought the use of an air ambulance to transport that person to a Valley hospital for specialized treatment. The identity and current status of the injured person have not been disclosed. There were reports of hazardous fluid leaks at the location, which necessitated containment and cleanup efforts before the road could be completely reopened. CHP officers directed traffic in the area for about an hour while tow teams removed the debris. An investigation into the crash’s cause is still in progress. We send our heartfelt wishes to the injured person and hope they recover quickly.
