(Hermosa Beach, CA) A man on an e-bike suffered serious injuries in a Pacific Coast Highway crash on Monday night, January 12. According to the Hermosa Beach Police Department, the incident took place around 7 p.m. in the 1800 block of the Pacific Coast Highway. Police officers responded to reports of a car crash and arrived to discover a man in his 50s with severe injuries. The paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was in serious condition. Authorities withheld the man’s name and other identifying information. During their probe of the event, police found that the driver had been driving on PCH when oncoming traffic halted. According to police, the driver veered into the center lane to avoid crashing into the stopped vehicles. During the maneuver, the vehicle hit the man on an electric bicycle. The driver stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators, according to police. Authorities did not suggest that impairment contributed to the crash.
