Bakersfield, CA (September 26, 2025) – On Thursday morning, a motorcyclist sustained injuries in a hit-and-run incident that took place on the westbound lanes of State Route 58 at Mount Vernon Ave. The accident occurred at approximately 6:18 a.m. caused considerable disruption while emergency responders assessed the situation. Preliminary reports suggest that the motorcyclist veered to avoid a dark vehicle before crashing and landing on the road. A silver GMC Sierra pickup reportedly hit the rider and then left the area. Witnesses reported that the collision caused the motorcycle to end up in the lanes, obstructing traffic during peak morning hours.
