A 35-year-old man was severely injured on November 21st in a Pacific Beach crash, after being hit by a motorcyclist while he was crossing Garnet Avenue against the traffic signal, according to the San Diego Police Department. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. in the 1900 section of Garnet Avenue. Investigators stated that the man was walking south in the eastern crosswalk of Garnet. He crossed the street despite the red “Don’t Walk” sign and was struck by a 21-year-old motorcyclist going east on a Suzuki 1500. The individual suffered several severe injuries such as a torn liver, broken femur, and multiple fractured bones, according to the police report. He was taken to a nearby hospital for urgent care. The biker experienced scrapes, but it was uncertain if he needed to be hospitalized. The police stated that alcohol was not considered a contributing factor in the accident.
