(Los Angeles, CA) On Wednesday, October 8, 2023, around 10:10 p.m. A pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run incident on Vermont Avenue close to the University of Southern California, prompting officials to secure the area and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Los Angeles Police Department reported that a dark-colored sedan hit the pedestrian while they were in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of Vermont Avenue and 36th Street. The driver left the scene without offering assistance. Upon the arrival of the paramedics, they took the victim to a local hospital. Medical personnel provided treatment for their non-specific injuries. In the course of the investigation, officials collected surveillance video and distributed it on social media to encourage the public to offer information. Los Angeles is offering a reward that can reach $25,000 for any information that helps identify the driver.
