In Burbank, CA, a pedestrian was fatally injured in an accident on the Golden State Freeway on Saturday night, leaving drivers in disbelief and resulting in significant traffic delays. The incident occurred on September 27 at 7:33 p.m. The California Highway Patrol was alerted about an individual who was hit on the southbound Golden State Freeway at Verdugo Avenue. According to witnesses, the pedestrian was crossing several lanes when he was struck by a car. Consequently, the accident caused him to end up in the first lane. Multiple drivers pulled over to assist, and one car allegedly provided a barrier from oncoming traffic. Upon the arrival of the officers, they cordoned off lanes to ensure the safety of the first responders. At 7:40 p.m., the CHP announced a SigAlert. shutting down the HOV lane in addition to lanes 1 and 2. By 9:56 PM, emergency responders had cleared all lanes for traffic.
