An 86-year-old cyclist was admitted to the hospital with serious injuries after being involved in an accident on Main Street in the Egger Highlands area of San Diego on Monday afternoon, October 13, as reported by the San Diego Police Department. The incident took place at approximately 3:49 p.m. located in the 2500 section of Main Street. Authorities reported that the senior cyclist was traveling north on Alamitos Avenue when he entered the eastbound traffic on Main Street. As he moved into the westbound lane, he was hit by a Jeep Grand Cherokee, operated by a 39-year-old driver. When emergency services arrived, they discovered the victim had sustained several severe injuries. It was concluded that he had a blood clot in his brain along with multiple fractures. Emergency medical personnel quickly transported him to a nearby hospital. The driver stayed at the location and assisted the authorities. The Traffic Division of the SDPD is currently overseeing the investigation into the Main Street Collision.
