On October 30, 2025, in Los Angeles, CA, a 26-year-old motorcyclist named Villanelle Thompson was fatally involved in a multiple vehicle accident on the Hollywood Freeway at approximately 12:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. on October 28 on the southbound side of U.S. Highway 101, close to Melrose Avenue. The California Highway Patrol stated that the accident started when Thompson’s motorcycle collided with a white Honda Pilot SUV. Following an impact, a series of collisions occurred, involving a minimum of four cars. In the course of these events, Thompson found themselves trapped under a red Toyota Corolla. Emergency teams from the Los Angeles Fire Department acted swiftly, utilizing hydraulic tools and an airbag to raise the vehicle and rescue the motorcyclist. Despite attempts to save him, Thompson was declared dead at the scene. The accident resulted in the closure of three southbound lanes on the freeway, and a SigAlert was issued and remained in effect for several hours. The lanes were finally reopened at approximately 5:30 p.m. After the investigation and debris removal were finished, no other significant injuries were reported.
