Summary of the collision on the Ventura (101) Freeway. In motorcycle accidents on freeways, investigators frequently refer to the Lane Sharing and Safe Passing Law. This law mandates that vehicles keep a safe distance when passing or driving close to motorcycles. It aids in avoiding side-swipe or rear-end accidents that can quickly turn fatal for cyclists. If unsafe speed or following distance contributed to the incident, the Basic Speed Law might also be relevant.
