Sacramento, CA (September 29, 2025) – Early Sunday morning, just after 8:00 a.m., a serious accident involving a pedestrian occurred near the intersection of 24th Street and 47th Avenue, resulting in injuries to an elderly person. On September 28, a vehicle hit a pedestrian thought to be in the age range of 60 to 70 years. Witnesses promptly contacted 911 to notify them of the accident, leading to the deployment of both Sacramento County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency medical personnel to the location. Early reports suggested that the pedestrian had a head injury and was having trouble breathing. Emergency responders promptly arrived on the scene and started providing treatment, ensuring the victim was stable while getting ready for a more thorough assessment. When assistance arrived, the pedestrian was said to be alert but experiencing distress. The driver, who was in a blue Nissan SUV with license plates from another state, stayed at the location and cooperated with the authorities. Authorities are examining the reasons behind the accident, looking into factors such as speed, visibility, and pedestrian right-of-way. Traffic around 24th Street and 47th Avenue was temporarily halted while emergency responders managed the situation and collected testimonies from bystanders.
