The collision location was described as northbound I-5 just south of Mossdale Road. The initial dispatch classified the injuries as unknown while emergency medical assistance was being sent to the scene.
At approximately 3:51 p.m., the California Highway Patrol updated the incident classification to a collision involving minor injuries. The update was issued by CHP after the earlier notification that an ambulance was en route.
