A hit-and-run collision with no reported injuries was logged early Aug. 29 on westbound Interstate 10 near the Highland Springs exit in California. The incident was recorded at 4:17 a.m. near Exit 96, mile marker 9, in the San Gorgonio Pass area.
The California Highway Patrol identified the incident as a vehicle collision in which the involved party left the scene. The dispatch information did not include descriptions of the vehicles or provide details about how the collision occurred.
A later CHP update, recorded at 4:19 p.m., stated that a reporting party would provide a message to an officer. The dispatch did not indicate that anyone was injured.
The incident location was listed as westbound I-10 at Highland Springs Exit 96. No lane closures, traffic blockage, towing request or additional emergency response were documented in the available CHP information.
