An ambulance was en route Monday afternoon after a traffic collision on southbound State Route 87 near the Almaden Expressway south offramp in San Jose. The incident was reported at approximately 2:57 p.m. on Aug. 17, 2026.
The California Highway Patrol’s location description placed the collision on southbound 87 just north of the Almaden Expressway south offramp. The dispatch information did not identify the vehicles involved or describe the reported injuries.
A later CHP update at approximately 3:44 p.m. indicated that the California Department of Transportation was contacted regarding the collision. The available dispatch record did not specify whether any lanes were blocked or whether traffic was diverted.
CHP also did not provide a cause for the collision, the number of people involved, or a final status for the ambulance response. No additional vehicle, roadway, or traffic-impact details were included in the dispatch information.
