(Corona, CA) A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday evening, January 29, while crossing South Main Street. Corona Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 7:20 p.m. to the 2600 block of S. Main St. Police say officers arrived to discover an adult woman with serious injuries from being struck by a northbound vehicle. Paramedics took her to a nearby hospital for care. Despite medical treatment, she ultimately died from her injuries. Officials did not disclose the woman’s name, age, or hometown, keeping that information private while notifying her next of kin. Police stated that the driver in the crash stayed at the scene and fully cooperated with investigators. Officers indicated that alcohol or drugs were not involved in the incident. Investigators stated that the pedestrian was crossing South Main Street eastbound outside a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision. Authorities provided no information on the vehicle’s speed, lighting, or traffic conditions during the incident.
